Hey ya'll! My name is Carissa Batenhorst and this will be my second year at Bel Air Elementary! However, this will be my fourth year of teaching, all spent in kindergarten!

I grew up in West Point, Nebraska but spent most of my childhood growing up in Beemer, Nebraska. My mom, Lachelle, is a nurse and my dad, Jeff, is a parts salesman. They have been married for almost 30 years. I grew up with two brothers. Josh, 28, is an agriculture teacher in Allen, Nebraska. Cole, 23, is currently deployed with the Army National Guard in Kuwait for the next year!

I currently live with my boyfriend, Tyler and our puppy, Ace. We live on a farm in-between Osmond, Nebraska and Wausa, Nebraska. Tyler and I have been dating for two years and we love to spend our days together by checking cows, feeding cows and anything else you can think of that involves cows! :)

Our puppies name is Ace and he is an Australian Shepard/Border Collie cross. He just turned one in March! He spent the summer at herd dog training and we are so excited to finally have him back on the farm! He loves to chew up everything in sight and has way too much energy!

In 2015, I graduated from WSC with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After my first year of teaching, I decided to continue my education by pursuing my Master's Degree. I graduated this last December with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I can now say that I have not one but two degrees from WSC!!

Here are just some fun facts about me! My shirt above says it all...I am ADDICTED to iced coffee and I am OBSESSED with cows! I love spending time on the farm, getting pampered with pedicures, reading, watching Netflix, spending time outdoors with Ace and Tyler, and getting a good nap in whenever I can!
